Warwickshire LEA/Early Years Development Partnership (EYDP). We meet all the conditions of funding for the Nursery Education Grant which, from April 2004, will fund 5 free sessions per week for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday (unless they also attend an LEA Nursery). Advice, guidance, resources and the expertise of WCC Education Authority are available to us via the LEA Early Years Development partnership (EYDP).
Qualified Teacher We take every opportunity to pursue in-service training through both PLA and the EYDP’s Training Programme and stay up-to-date with the latest developments and requirements for early years education through PLA and the EYDP publications and subscription to Early Years Educator.
Child Health and Education Professionals. We have strong links and good working relationships with these, notably IDS Teaching & Learning, the Child Development Centre, Local Health Visitors, Social Workers and the Child Protection Team. Speech and Language Therapists also visit us at playgroup to advise.
We are members of The Pre-school Learning Alliance (PLA), a national educational charity (founded 1962) and umbrella body linking 17,000 community based preschools, providing preschool care and education for nearly three quarters of a million children under 5 in England. PLA offers members a wealth of information and advice and a wide range of services including insurance, publications, and training, up to date details of which are to be found on our Parent Notice Board along with a Profile of PLA and its Statement of Principles.
