Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum The new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) combines and replaces the Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance and the Birth to Three matters Framework. It is the statutory Framework for all Early Years settings working with children from 0-5 years from September 2008.
The Spring Playgroup has already embraced the new EYFS curriculum and has implemented many of the statutory requirements which had to be in place by Autumn 2008.
Within the playgroup all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace . We feel learning through play is extremely important to young children and provides them with many essential skills that they will need as they grow older. It helps them to learn and develop through talking and doing.
We provide a wide range of play activities which enable the children to reach their goals. In some of these activities children decide how they will use the activity and in others, the adults will lead.
We keep records of each child's progress and development. These records are available to individual parents on request.
